Language Arts



Language Arts is an independent brand studio specializing in strategy, voice, and copy. We help brands feel more like people and less like marketing departments.

We do everything involving words: naming, brand strategy, campaigns, websites, social, email, pitch decks, etc.

We often partner with design counterparts to bring full brand identities to life. That might look like embedding with your internal design team, working alongside your external design agency, or tapping our own network of designers. We can be as integrated or independent as you’d like.

We’ve worked in a multitude of categories, from CPG to fashion to AI, and many in between.

Language Arts is run by two people:

Thatcher Jensen is a creative director and writer. He was previously the creative lead at Recess and a copywriter at Ogilvy New York. His writing has been published in The New Yorker & McSweeneys, and performed on stage by Olivia Coleman and Dame Harriet Walter.

Amina Farias is a strategist and writer who entered the world of branding by way of the NYC film industry. Her research supported Academy Award-winning costume designer Ann Roth’s designs for To Kill A Mockingbird (Aaron Sorkin). She’s worked with brands like Recess, Nike & Faculty. 


Recess

We’ve been working with Recess since 2019, less than a year after its conception. We helped develop the Recess tone of voice and work on everything and anything related to marketing, branding, campaigns, IRL events, and new product rollouts.



Bero

Bero is a premium nonalcoholic beer created by Tom Holland. We helped the team with pre and post-launch copywriting, including headlines for their first campaign, social copy, and long-form content.



Notion

Notion is the all-in-one workspace for you and your team. We partnered with Notion’s in-house team and BUCK, writing the hero spot for the brand’s latest global campaign, Think It Make It. We also worked closely with the team to evolve Notion’s brand persona and develop launch copy for Notion AI and other new products.




Ourside

Ourside is a Black-owned fragrance brand built on the idea that scent can transport you anywhere — even to a place you’ve never been. We teamed up with Some Days to name the brand, craft tone & voice, and develop key messaging.



Faculty

Faculty is a gender-fluid cosmetic brand for whoever you are today. We worked directly with the founders and in-house creative team to establish a clear voice that came to life everywhere from campaigns and product names to email, social, and their website.



Vuum

Vuum is a plant-based energy drink that contains everything you need to do anything. We partnered with Some Days to craft their brand strategy, voice, and key messaging.



Commons

Commons makes sustainable spending easy by helping you visualize your carbon impact and take steps to minimize it. We helped Some Days with naming, copywriting, and developing key messaging for the new brand. 



Plantible

Plantible is a B2B biology company unlocking the power of plants. We teamed up with Some Days to develop the tone of voice & key messaging for the brand, as well as copywriting across their website.



Nike

We’ve worked with Some Days on various Nike projects since 2022, including developing distinct brand voices for Nike Classics shoes (Dunk, Waffle, AF1, etc.) and strategy that supported their Only In Your City campaign for Nike Basketball.
